TRANSIT FLIGHT ESSENTIALS

Transits can be fun if the stopover time is short, but it can be really very tiring if the duration is more than 6 hours. Here, not forgetting to mention that I do have a little confusion between transit fights and transfer flights. Mine was said to be a transit one, but it does fall under the category of transfer flight for so many reasons. Anyways, which ever it was, it's just that when ever you're required to rest at an intermediate point before reaching the original destination for more than 6 hours, you may need to pack up your carry-on very smartly. I was on a 13 hour stopover at Dubai International Airport and you guys, that's a big deal when you are accompanied by non.

You may need to carry these unusual items in your hand carry, while on a long transit.

1- SOMETHING TO READ You may get bored after exploring the airport and the time here does not pass easily. Refresh your mind with a good literature kick! Carry any thing you would love to read.

2-SNACKS Hunger pangs my mates..! Hunger-pangs!! that are hard to deal with. Carry anything you would like to munch on. However, if your stay is more than 4 hours and you are travelling with Emirates Airlines, they provide free meal vouchers to their passengers. Don't forget to grab yours!

3-A FLEECE BLANKET No matter whatever the outside temperature is, it gradually gets cooler inside and you may start shivering if not covered properly. Carry a light weight fleece to stay warm.

4-A TRAVEL CUSHION You may need a nap but you don't want to break your neck. Carry a travel cushion as an essential for your layover.

5-PAIR OF SLIPPER Wearing new shoes that you haven't broke in yet or high heals will surely make you uncomfortable in a while. Always wear something you can easily walk. Dubai airport offers you free showers and I am sure you won't feel happy having a quick fix in one of your favorite shoes. So always keep a pair of slippers.

6-A TOWEL There are free warm showers but not complimentary towels. So don't forget to bring yours! Plus you get so worn out while visiting this massively huge airport and those duty free shops. You may desire to freshen up.

That's all folks. What do you pack when you're on a transit?

Till next. Cheerios!
